Faith and family
I've been a member of Bellevue Baptist Church since 2000, and I ran its network for five of those years. I serve as a deacon and lead a Life Group. My wife Amanda and I have taught students there for more than ten years, and we've led mission trips to Kenya together. I also meet one-on-one with men for discipleship.
That part of my life and the IT part are the same skill, if you squint: taking something complicated and handing it to someone who needs to use it.
On AI
AI is a tool, just like the wheel was better than rolling on logs, or a hammer is better than a rock. It's not a companion, it's not a life coach, a doctor, a friend. It's a tool to help make things more efficient.
Day to day I use Claude Code for most of my work, plus Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio, Google AI Studio, and Perplexity. At home I run Qwen models locally on a Mac with MLX and LM Studio, and I use an NVIDIA Jetson Orin for edge AI projects. Every coding project lives in GitHub.
The thing I'm proudest of so far: pulling five siloed systems at work into one operating picture for the whole company, then turning our employee handbooks into training modules inside it.
Why "dice81"
Dice was my white 1988 Volkswagen Cabriolet, on black tires. 81 is the year I was born.

A small AI answers from what's on this page and nothing else. Treat it the way I'd want you to: as a tool.
